Recommendations for use
Silk is used for approaching and/or suturing soft tissues in general and abdominal surgery, ophthalmology, microsurgery, cardiovascular surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and neurosurgery. For applying skin sutures, suturing muscles and aponeuroses.
Contraindications
Silk is not recommended for use when applying vascular prostheses and artificial valves.
The use of this suture is contraindicated in patients with sensitivity or allergic reaction to silk.
