With any type of wound treatment, wound drainage is considered one of the main methods for evacuating wound fluids, however, depending on the nature of the damage, the amount of exudates released, and the configuration of the wound channel, it is possible to use various techniques and methods for its implementation.
The “MEDICARE” wound drainage system is used for forced removal of contents from the wound cavity in cases of extensive injuries with a complex configuration of the wound channel and in the presence of closed pockets in it. Among these methods, aspiration drainage is distinguished (through the introduction of a tube into the wound cavity and the creation of low pressure inside).

Drainage is a therapeutic method that consists in removing the contents from wounds, abscesses, the contents of hollow organs, natural or pathological body cavities. Full drainage provides sufficient outflow of wound exudate, creates the best conditions for the speedy rejection of dead tissues and the transition of the healing process to the regeneration phase. There are practically no contraindications to drainage. The process of purulent surgical and antibiotic therapy revealed another advantage of drainage - the possibility of a targeted fight against wound infection.
To ensure good drainage, it has the character of drainage, the choice is optimal for each case, the method of drainage, the position of the drainage in the wound, the use of certain medications for washing the wound (according to the sensitivity of the microflora), the proper maintenance of the drainage system in compliance with the rules of asepsis.
