Purpose:
A gauze bandage is applied to open wounds, previously treated, and thanks to direct pressure, stops bleeding. Due to the mesh structure of the bandage, the wound is ventilated (unlike a plaster bandage), which significantly accelerates healing. Also, gauze bandages are used to strengthen dressings, fix cotton swabs and other medical devices, prevent unwanted movement of an injured limb, prevent edema, support an injured joint or limb, etc.
A gauze bandage is used both in medical institutions and at home. There are sterile and non-sterile.
