3M™ Attest™ Biological Indicators for Ethylene Oxide Sterilization, together with the 3M™ Attest™ Biological Indicator Incubator for Ethylene Oxide Sterilization, are used to monitor the effectiveness of the gas sterilization process of medical devices in 3M™ Steri-Vac™ low-temperature gas sterilizers.
With the help of biological indicators, the real fact of the death of microbial spores in the sterilizer chamber is confirmed.
The biological indicator 3M™ Attest™ is a self-contained plastic case that contains a glass sealed ampoule with a nutrient medium and a strip with a metered amount of test culture spores.
The purpose of incubation of the raw (initial) indicator is:
- control of the correctness of the incubation conditions;
- checking the viability of spores in the indicators of this lot;
- checking the suitability of the nutrient medium for the growth of microorganisms of this species.
