Medical plaster bandages are used in traumatology for immobilization (treatment) of bone fractures, soft tissue injuries, joint diseases, etc. Medical plaster bandages are strips of medical gauze impregnated with high-quality gypsum mass, evenly distributed on the gauze and fixed with a bacteriostatic material that is indifferent to the body .

Indications for use

  • Used to fix fractures.
  • Used for soft tissue injuries.
  • Used for joint disease.
  • There is no irritant or allergic effect on the skin.

Mode of application

  • Check that the water temperature meets the requirements of 20°C-30°C;
  • The bandage must be placed in a deep bowl, since the air comes out faster under high pressure;
  • Immersion time - 3-8 seconds, depending on the size, until the bubbles disappear;
  • For faster air release, the bandage should be immersed at an angle of 45 degrees;
  • The bandage after removal from the water is pressed from the sides to the center, in order to avoid coagulation and loss of plasticity, it is necessary to apply the bandage immediately after it is squeezed out;
  • For better unwinding of the bandage, use the plastic device on which the bandage is wound;
  • The imposition of a plaster bandage is usually carried out in two ways: in a circle and in folds.

Don't overtighten the bandage. The time from the moment the bandage is immersed to the completion of the entire procedure should be within 120 seconds; - the bandage hardening time is the time from the moment of immersion in water (approximately 120 seconds) until the end of the operation - 4-8 minutes.

Advantages

  • There are no external winding defects, holes, folds, weft shifts on the plaster bandage.
  • The gypsum composition has a uniform impregnation.
  • The gypsum bandage has evenly cut (without fringe) technological edges.
