Sterile surgical scalpel (size 11) from TM Medicare is designed for all types of surgical intervention in medical and preventive institutions.
The scalpel consists of a blade, cutting edge, blade tip, butt, neck and handle. Scalpels can have a one-piece or combined design. In a one-piece design, all parts are one solid piece made from the same material. In a combined design, an object is a combination of metal and plastic parts, for example, a disposable scalpel. The latter are used more and more often, replacing solid scalpels.
The constituent parts of scalpels in different types of scalpels are in different proportions. This determines the appearance of the scalpel and its purpose.
Depending on the size of the blade, the following types of scalpels are distinguished:
For the manufacture of scalpels use medical stainless steel. Disposable scalpels do not require high corrosion resistance, so they are made of hardened chromium steel for cold forming. Reusable scalpels are distinguished by either a high chromium content (95X18) or a more complex alloying (X12MF). Scalpel blades for ophthalmic operations are usually made of leucosapphire or ceramic, stellites with a thick diamond coating. Due to the high cost, they are forced to be reusable.
