Nylon is a twisted non-absorbable synthetic twisted suture material.
Nylon twisted from modified polyamide is made.
The twisted nylon thread has high strength and elasticity, it is reliably knitted with a surgical knot. The threads have a relatively low inertia and high tensile strength, causing a moderate tissue reaction.
Inferior to braided capron in terms of handling properties, it is used as a “budget” option.
