Purpose : an intravenous catheter (cannula) with an injection port is used for long-term (up to 3 days) administration of drugs into peripheral veins.
Production material :
- catheter - fluoropolymer with Teflon coating,
- needle - medical steel.
Characteristics:
- has an additional port for the bolus administration of drugs during the infusion;
- valve and port plug prevent contact with the patient's blood;
- wings allow you to securely fix the catheter and eliminate the possibility of unauthorized extraction;
- the catheter has a radiopaque band to provide effective control of the location in the vein;
- the minimum distance from the end of the catheter to the cut of the needle and a decrease in the thickness of the catheter wall towards the distal end facilitates vein puncture;
- the catheter tightly fits the needle and minimally injures the tissues when inserted into a vein;
- a transparent blood return chamber provides reliable control of the correct location of the needle in the vein;
- sterile, intended for single use.
