Embolectomy catheters are designed to safely remove thromboembolic masses from arteries and veins. Catheters are made of biologically neutral material. The elasticity of catheters is adequate to their size. The balloon is made of latex, which allows it to withstand the required pressure. The silky smooth surface of the balloon facilitates rapid catheter insertion. The catheters are color coded according to the international color code. Color marks are applied at intervals of 10 cm. Mandrin is made of stainless steel, it facilitates the introduction of the catheter into the vessel. The soft, rounded tip minimizes the risk of vessel wall perforation. The other end of the catheter has a Luer-lock connector.
Each catheter is marked with the catheter diameter and balloon size.
Sterilization of catheters is carried out by gamma irradiation.
Single channel Fogarty catheters can also be used to remove stones from the bile duct.
