Thoracic drainage catheter sterilized with ethylene oxide. Made from high quality medical grade PVC . The radiopaque strip allows you to control the position of the catheter. Side holes promote effective drainage.
Application area:
It is used in surgery to aspirate gas or liquid from the chest cavity.
- Treatment of pneumothorax
- Treatment of fluid in the pleura of various etiologies and nature
- Drainage of the pleural pit after operations with the opening of the pleural pit
Mode of application:
- Disinfect and cover with sterile wipes the skin at the catheter insertion site
- Anesthetize the skin and intercostal space at the site of the planned catheter insertion
- Remove the kit from the packaging, maintaining the principles of asepsis
- Cut the skin with a scalpel
- Gently insert a trocar with a superimposed catheter along the upper border of the rib behind the pleural wall
- Insert the catheter along the trocar into the inside of the chest, directing it with the trocar along the inner surface of the chest wall.
- Remove the trocar, connect the catheter to the suction set or passive drainage set.
