The subclavian catheter is intended for installation in the central vessels according to the Seldinger method.
Catheterization is used:
- for long-term and repeated administration of drugs in cases of impossibility of transfusion through peripheral veins,
- for parenteral nutrition,
- for blood sampling
- for invasive changes in central venous pressure.
Features of the subclavian catheter:
- A polymer catheter with a straight cut of the working end and a Luer port: with the help of a Luer cannula, a fluid infusion device is connected to the catheter, and the holes on the wings of the Luer cannula are used for suturing the catheter to the skin in order to immobilize it and reduce the risk of infection of the wound with bacteria from the skin surface.
