Sterile disposable gastric probe Fr 22 - used for gastric probing (research), gastric lavage and hypothermia, used as a catheter for gastric access, aspiration, collection and administration of medicinal substances, as well as for enteral nutrition.
With the help of a gastric tube, the contents of the stomach are aspirated, and then examined in the laboratory.
The gastric tube is made of soft, transparent implantation-non-toxic and thermoplastic medical polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in the form of a hollow tube, the distal end of which has an open rounded tip with side holes, which ensures atraumatic placement, and the other end is equipped with a universal connector (port), the color of which classified by probe size.
Along the entire length of the disposable gastric probe, there is a radiopaque strip (RKP) and marks located from the distal end (1st mark - 40 cm, the rest in increments of 5 cm - up to 75 cm.)
The gastric tube has four lateral holes located at the distal end on different sides, which reduce the risk of tube obstruction and ensure its good patency.
When setting (introducing) a gastric tube, it is moistened with water or saline close to body temperature, the thermoplastic material softens under the influence of the temperature of the surrounding tissues.
