Crutches facilitate independent movement, redistribute the load from the lower extremities, improve balance and increase safety when moving, and reduce the load on the hand and elbow joint when walking. Telescopic design. Lightweight, durable and corrosion resistant aluminum alloy. The handles and the base are covered with soft porous rubber. Replaceable support nozzles from strong wearproof nonskid rubber. Pack of 2

Appointments

  • Rehabilitation after operations, injuries and fractures of limbs.
  • Assistance with independent movement in diseases of the neurological and therapeutic profile.
  • Advanced age. Redistribution of the load from the lower extremities, an increase in the area of support and stability when walking, especially in adverse weather conditions.

Sizing:

When choosing axillary crutches, two parameters should be taken into account: the height of the crutch from the floor to the axillary bar and the position of the handle. If the patient is currently unable to stand independently, the approximate height of the crutches can be calculated by subtracting 40 cm from his height. However, it is better to try on and adjust the crutches to size, i.e. in accordance with the physical parameters of a person when he is standing and wearing habitual shoes.

Start by positioning the crutch against your chest with the rubber tip about 15-20 cm from your foot. At the same time, 2-3 fingers should pass freely between the axillary bar and the armpit (this is about 4-5 cm). To determine the correct position of the handle, freely lower your hand, bend it about 30 degrees and make a fist. The handle should be at the level of the fist. The correct installation of the handle can be checked as follows - stretch your arms along the body and evaluate the location of the handle - if the handle is located at the level of the wrist line (where we wear the watch), then the adjustment is set correctly.

After one axillary crutch is adjusted to the height of the patient, you need to adjust the second one in the same way (if necessary). After that, the patient should walk a little on new crutches. If at the same time strong pressure is felt in the armpit, then the crutches are too long. If, when walking, the patient feels that the body weight is transferred more to the arms, and not to the shoulders, then the crutches are too short. In both the first and second cases, you need to try changing the settings.
